A breakdown of the UK’s legal system

The Politics Society welcomed Dr Matt Cole of Birmingham University on Thursday 19th January.  Dr Cole gave a comprehensive and interesting account of the role of the UK Supreme Court in British Politics.  This proved very topical with the recent EU referendum and triggering of Article 50 by the Government.  He explained, with great clarity, how the British Constitution is largely unwritten and very reliant on customs, conventions and traditions. This was an outstanding talk by an accomplished author, academic and teacher.

The Politics Society are most grateful to Dr Cole for taking so much time out of his busy schedule and conducting a wide ranging question and answer session after the presentation.
