Introducing the Heads of the Line

The Heads of the Line at Stonyhurst this year are John Messent from Amersham, Buckinghamshire, and Caroline Shorthouse from Balderstone, Lancashire.

This is John’s fifth year as a boarder at the College; he hopes to read History at Oxford and enjoys football and debating. Caroline has been a day pupil at Stonyhurst for eleven years and wants to read English at Oxford; she enjoys drama, music, hockey and is a member of the College Cadet Corps.

Harrison Collins, from Woking, and Eleanor Lamb from Langho, are the Deputy Heads of the Line. “The Committee plays an essential role in helping us to run the school well” said the Headmaster, Mr Johnson. “Committee members are chosen for their leadership qualities and will develop these during the year.”

Before term started, they all joined the Headmaster, Deputy Headmaster and the chaplains for a retreat at Brettargh Holt in the Lake District, in preparation for their year of service.
