Theatre Company coming to Stonyhurst
The ‘Out of Joint’ Theatre Company is to perform Robin Soans’ play ‘Mixed Up North’ on October 19th at Stonyhurst. The play, directed by Max Stafford-Clark - one of the most influential directors in British Theatre from the past 50 years - is based on real events and is billed as "a fiercely funny and moving new play about the difficulties of uniting divided racial communities in the Lancashire mill town of Burnley." The plot centres on Trish and Bella, who lead a youth theatre group for Asian and White teenagers. As they struggle to share their artistic vision with a cast who think acting is “soft”, the compelling stories of the young stars unfold, along with a moving history of their town.
Although sold out at Stonyhurst, the production can be seen at other venues in the north, including Turton, Nelson, Burnley and Liverpool until December. Further details can be found on the Out of Joint website: www.outofjoint.co.uk
