Stonyhurst College's Industrial Society were delighted to welcome Mr Tony Carr, MD of Social Enterprise Solutions to talk on the topic of 'Social Enterprise - A Power of Good for Business'.  The talk was well attended by the Business Studies pupils, who have been learning about social enterprise as an alternative to the traditional business model.  The talk also coincided with the launch of the College's own social enterprise company, 'SCRAP'.  Mr Carr has agreed to become an 'e-mentor' to the company, to advise them on running their social enterprise over the year.  Mr Carr spoke eloquently about the role of social enterprise in the economy, and the pupils were also interested to hear a case study of Divine chocolate, one of the most successful social enterprises in the UK.  The free samples of chocolate were a welcome reward for an interesting evening!
