SYNTAX PARENTS’ WEEKEND
SATURDAY, 16th & SUNDAY, 17th JANUARY, 2010

The principal purpose of this weekend is to discuss your son’s or daughter’s academic progress, along with their GCSE prospects. It is also important to discuss A level subject choices for Higher Line, and there will be an opportunity to have a tour of the key Higher Line facilities.

SATURDAY PROGRAMME

11pm Coffee in the Top Refectory

11.30am Brief talks for pupils and parents from the Headmaster, Deputy Head (Learning) and Heads of the Line (Top Refectory)

12.00 noon Tours of Higher Line by the Committee and Poetry students

12.45pm Guided prayers for parents in the College Chapel

1.00pm Lunch in the Top Refectory

2.15pm Games Fixtures

4.00pm Tea in the Pieta Gallery

3.30 – 6.00pm Meetings with teachers and heads of department (More Library and Upper Gallery Classrooms)

 A level presentations by select Heads of Department (AV Room)
 4.30pm Head of Business Studies
 4.45pm Head of Economics
 5.00pm Head of Politics
 5.15pm Head of Theatre Studies

6.00 – 6.15pm Benediction in the College Chapel
6.15 – 8.00pm           Drinks Party in the Long Room with music from the Big Band

8.00 – 10.30pm           Exeats


SUNDAY PROGRAMME

10.00am  Mass in St Peter’s Church (parents are warmly invited to attend)

11.00am  Tea and coffee in the Pieta Gallery and Do Room

11.30am  Exeat for lunch with parents and family

5.00pm  Return for evening studies

EXEAT TIMES

Exeats are available until 10.30pm on Saturday and after Mass on Sunday.  Your son or daughter should be back on Sunday for evening studies starting at 5.00pm.  Mrs Goodall / Miss Fielding will be happy to give parents permission to take out those boys and girls whose parents cannot attend, but please ensure that the Exeat procedures are adhered to.  No overnight exeats will be permitted unless a pupil is with his or her own parents.
