Birmingham Royal Ballet workshop and performance

On Thursday 25th September 29 students aged 6 to 18 attended a day at the Lowry Theatre in Salford to participate in repertoire and creative based workshops run by the Birmingham Royal Ballet. They watched a company technical class and enjoyed the performance of Beauty and the Beast. The workshops were led by Jenny Murphy who, as a dancer for the company for many years, has since moved on to educating dancers with her wealth of experience in classical technique and ballet repertoire.

It was a truly amazing experience which allowed all age groups to deepen their own understanding and enjoyment of ballet, story-telling and creativity. These links were clearly evident when the whole group applauded at the end of the performance day!
