Drama Workshop presents Grimm tales

A lively piece of storytelling drama complemented the Hansel and Gretel dance performance at Great Academies. College students from the Drama Workshop presented Grimm, a selection of the famous Grimm brothers’ tales, in a typical ‘storytelling’ style, using movement and characterisation to tell the stories in a dynamic and highly visual manner. From the wily Landlord to the downtrodden Ashenputtel, each of the characters burst into life through the energy and honesty of the performers. The four Grimm stories were entwined with an over-arching narrative featuring the two witty Grimm brothers as they journeyed through the enchanted forest in a bid to find the ‘best’ story. The audience chuckled throughout as each character brought fast-paced, physical comedy onto the stage and a truly magical evening was had by all.

The drama performance was adapted and directed by the Head of Drama, Miss Dixon, and was co-directed by Miss Zausmer and Miss Lane.
