Exchange with Wah Yan Jesuit College, Hong Kong and Kowloon

Stonyhurst welcomed 19 students and 3 teachers from Wah Yan Jesuit College in Hong Kong and Kowloon for their 10-day visit to the College. This is the second exchange with Wah Yan in recent years.

The Wah Yan students have enjoyed a varied and busy visit, during which they have attended lessons, toured the Collections and generally discovered Stonyhurst. They have also experienced their first snow-fall and the warmth of Stonyhurst parents’ hospitality.

The Wah Yan party travelled to the Lake District shortly after their arrival, where conditions were distinctly Alpine. They also visited Old Trafford and the Imperial War Museum North. The boys had a wonderful time in London too, staying for two nights aboard HMS Belfast and taking a spin on the London Eye.

On their last evening at Stonyhurst, four Wah Yan musicians gave excellent piano and violin performances at the Headmaster’s Concert.

A group of Stonyhurst’s pupils and staff will visit Wah Yan in October, where they will give several music and drama performances.
