Anna SouthwardBA (Hons), RAD, CDE ISTD. MA.
Joined Stonyhurst in 2011
Anna started dancing at her local dance school at the age of three and is now a fully qualified and registered dance teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and Imperial Society of teachers of Dance (ISTD). She has held varied positions within the dance education sector in the capacity of dance teacher of ballet, tap, jazz and contemporary (through all levels up to advanced/pre professional) as well as Regional Coordinator/ Marketing Advisor and teacher trainer – of the dance education initiative LittleMagicTrain/Angelina Ballerina/HI5. In addition to this Anna worked for Walt Disney Theatrical as their UK Retail Manager to support the production team of The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast. In her two and a half year contract in Tokyo working for the International Dance Academy (IDA) and Ariake New City Ballet (ANCB) as a teacher and administrator.
Andrea MorrisonBA (Hons), DDE ISTD, BCA Coach
Joined Stonyhurst in 2010
Andrea started dancing at the age of three at a local dance school and as a child went on to do many workshops at The Royal Ballet, The Northern Ballet and The Urdang Academy. At age eleven she got the acting bug and throughout her teenage years focused on performing Shakespeare. Andrea left school and began teaching ballet, street dance and drama classes for her local youth theatres. She then auditioned for the Professional Dancers and Teachers of Dance course and was awarded a scholarship. After four years training in various dance styles she gained her Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD) DDI and DDE qualifications in Ballet, National, Modern and Tap. She continued to teach dance and LAMDA at various schools throughout the Northwest.
Laura HopkinsonDance Graduate, DDE (ISTD)
Laura started dancing at the age of 10 at Footsteps Theatre School in Bradford which is where her passion and love of dance and teaching developed. Laura then went on to train for a year in musical theatre at The Urdang Academy London. From there Laura went on to complete a Foundation Degree in Teaching Dance in the Private Sector and also gained her ISTD DDE’s in Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre and Tap Dance at Preston College. Laura Is currently working to gain a BA Hons is Professional Practice – Dance and Performing Arts whilst working and teaching here at Stonyhurst.
