First Holy Communion

On Sunday June 29th, twelve children from Stonyhurst St Mary’s Hall made their First Holy Communion:
Billy F, William B, Grace K, Gabriella R, James D, Jim C, Nancy B, Forecita G, Charlie C, George N, Lottie E and Holly Cowen.

Mass was celebrated in St Peter’s, Stonyhurst by Fr Peter Griffiths SJ assisted by our altar servers from SMH : Zach, Jonathan F, William N and Tom B.

The Choirs of St Mary’s Hall, under the direction of Mrs D Johnson and Dr K Morgan (organist) complemented the liturgy beautifully with John Rutter’s setting of ‘All things bright and beautiful’ and Franck’s Panis Angelicus, sung by Etienne M during communion.

The First Communicants and their families celebrated with a delicious Communion breakfast, in the refectory, prepared by Mr and Mrs Winckley and their staff. Our headmaster, Mr Crouch, cut the cake with the children and gave the toast.

Thank you to James Alton and Anthony Chow, sacristans at the College, for their support.

Our thanks also to Carlos Chuquihuara (our visiting Jesuit novice, last term) and Mrs Joanne Dodd who assisted in the children’s preparation. Additionally, we are grateful to Mrs Caroline Williams who supported the parents.
