It’s a hockey hat-trick

On 12th October, it was the turn of the Stonyhurst U16’s hockey team to play their county tournament at Stanley Park in Blackpool.  After a 0-0 dram against Lytham HS, they then drew 1-1 against AKS Lytham.  A 13-0 victory was had versus Baines School, and then, in their penultimate group match, they drew 1-1 with Rossall School.

They needed to win their final match against Fishermore to progress to the Regional Round and the girls enjoyed a 2-0 victory to take them through!

With this stunning result, this means that for the first time ever, Stonyhurst will represent Lancashire in all 3 age groups in the Regional Round of the National School’s Hockey Tournament – a hockey hat-trick.  This winning streak does not stop here, as the SMH U12s hockey team will also play in the National Finals for the IAPS.

Congratulations to all the girls involved and a huge thanks to the staff!  We wish all four teams every success in the National Tournament when they represent Lancashire.
