Meg plays for Manchester

Meg Murphy (Lower Grammar) has been selected to play in one of Manchester’s two 7-a-side squads. These squads play competitive fixtures in Leeds and Durham. This is a tremendous achievement and is the next step up from county hockey, for which Meg trains with England coaches.

Over the summer Meg trained with England Hockey coaches at the U15 Junior Regional Performance Centre based in Manchester. This was followed by Meg’s selection for the Manchester squad, made after two competition days in Leeds, where England Hockey coaches scout for talent!

Meg is an outstanding young hockey player who shows great potential.  Her achievements over the summer are even more impressive when you consider she is actually a year younger than her teammates.  We wish Meg well with the U14 team this season. Well done Meg!
