Heated Hockey!
Stonyhurst St Mary's Hall faced some tough opposition on the hockey field this week, made all the more challenging by the scorching temperatures!
The U13As were slow off the mark conceding early in the game and from then on struggled to find their way back. Substitutions had to be made having lost players through injury, so this provided a window of opportunity for Figures pupils (Year 7), C. Nechi, K. Belderbos and B. Booth to make their debut for the first team. Congratulations to B.Booth who scored a hat- trick!
Many of the U12B team were also making their first appearance for the school, some having only played hockey for a few weeks. They played with great determination and battled hard to win the ball. E. Kalthober made some storming runs from defence playing the ball through to C. Bashall and C. Carballo. The girls deserved something from the game but after their goalkeeper made some important saves the game finished 1-0 to Cundall Manor.
Well done to all girls who played.
