A challenging Maths Day at SMH
A day of mathematical challenge and fun was held at Stonyhurst St Mary's Hall for gifted mathematicians recently. Thirty children from 11 local primary schools, all in Year 5, joined 6 pupils from SMH for a variety of activities, including "Mathematical Connect 4", logic puzzles and problem solving. Pupils eagerly earned points for their team and medals were awarded at the end of the day. Mr Wayne Clarke, Head of Maths at St Mary’s Hall said: “The pupils had a thoroughly enjoyable day demonstrating lots of high level mathematical thinking.”
