The Diamond Jubilee Mass

Almost 400 children from 8 local Catholic primary schools joined SMH to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with a special Mass in St Peter’s Church, Stonyhurst. Children from each school contributed to the Mass by reading prayers and readings, serving, singing, and presenting beautiful celebration banners and gifts they had made to symbolise the Queen’s 60 year reign. The celebrant was Fr Peter Willcocks, SJ, parish priest at Hurst Green and chaplain at Stonyhurst St Mary’s Hall.
After the Mass, everyone enjoyed a wonderful street party at Stonyhurst St Mary’s Hall.
