Duke of Edinburgh Expeditions

The penultimate weekend of term saw a great deal of Duke of Edinburgh's Award activity: Poets successfully completed their Silver qualifying expedition in the Yorkshire Dales, while Lower Grammar and Grammar took part in practice expeditions.

The D of E assessor gave the Poets a glowing report, saying:

As a group of students they were truly outstanding and I wanted to let you know that it was an absolute privilege and pleasure to work with them.  Considering their limited experience of expeditions in mountainous areas, and that at times the weather was quite severe, your teams worked very well together and achieved a great deal.  It was an outstanding performance on their part. Should they continue with the same level of team work, commitment, motivation and drive there is no reason why they cannot go on to successfully completing their Gold Award. They really are a credit to themselves and the school.  Needles to say they all passed their Silver Qualifying Expedition.
