GCSE Results Day
Once again Stonyhurst is celebrating a good crop of GCSE results. This year 17% of all pupils got straight A*/A grades which is an excellent achievement. In particular Lucia Turner achieved 12A*, while Charlotte Redmondgot 11A*s and 1A with James Powell 10A*s and 1A. Teresa Mak and Simon Whittle got 9A*s and the rest As. Along with other pupils this has been a bumper year for the GCSE results. Equally Stonyhurst wants to celebrate the achievements of the students who were expecting more modest results. We congratulate all the pupils who have achieved so much.
'We are once again very pleased by the achievements of our students across the board and congratulate them and their teachers on the hard work that went into achieving such results,’ said Mr Andrew Johnson, ‘ we are very proud of our pupils right across the spectrum.’
Girls did particularly well at Stonyhurst with over half of them achieving 7 or more A*/A grades. 43% of all grades were A*/A with an overall pass rate of 90% A*- C grades.
