The Committee Retreat
Each year, a Committee of senior prefects is appointed in Rhetoric (Year 13), to assist with the smooth-running of the College. On the weekend before the start of the Christmas Term, members of the new Committee attended a Retreat in the Lake District, with chaplains Fr Twist, SJ and Miss Young, the Head of Higher Line Mrs North, the Pastoral Deputy Head Mr Hopkins and the Headmaster, Mr Johnson. The Retreat, at Castlerigg Manor near Keswick, was an invaluable time of preparation for the Committee, allowing them to reflect on the leadership role they will play over the academic year. As you can see from the photograph, they found time to climb a fell (Castlehead) and enjoy the scenery before returning to the College for Day One: welcoming new boarders and carrying luggage up several flights of stairs!
