The Industrial Society considers what it takes to be an entrepeneur

Business Studies students with Clive Grummett

The first Industrial Society meeting of the year was well attended this week when Clive Grummett, non-executive chairman of ROQ-IT came to speak on the support available for new entrepreneurs.

Clive shared with the pupils his experiences as a multiple entrepreneur as well as an adviser to young business people through the Prince's Trust.  They enjoyed debating the key requirements for any new business as well as essential characteristics of entrepreneurs, before discussing the benefits and pitfalls of business support options.

Our thanks go to Clive for taking the time to speak to our Society and passing on valuable information that will be useful in the upcoming Business Studies exam and beyond.

The Industrial Society regularly invites business people to share their experiences with the Business and Economics pupils at the College.  Next half term we are looking forward to welcoming Matthew Riley of Daisy Communications PLC on 15th November as well as Adrian Hirst of C.O.S Brands on 22nd November.
