Madame Butterfly Ballet Workshop with Northern Ballet
On 1st March 32 Stonyhurst dance students attended Northern Ballet Leeds for a Workshop and Performance Day. It began with an opportunity to watch a professional company ballet class at Leeds Grand Theatre, after which students partcipated in their own ballet class in the Northern Ballet studios, as well as a creative workshop class linked with their production of Madame Butterfly. The day finished at the theatre, with a performance of Madame Butterfly.
For all those working on their Trinity College Arts Award (Bronze, Silver or Gold) the day contributed to their portfolio of work as it was a wonderful opportunity to experience a day in the life of a dancer. The girls could draw on their own knowledge of dance and learn about the choreographic interpretation of Madame Butterfly.
