Graham and Brown visit
Poetry (Year 12) Business Studies pupils recently gained an insight into the running of a real-life business when they went on a factory visit to Graham & Brown Ltd, based in Blackburn. A very positive relationship has been built up between the company and our Business Studies Department, and the visit has become something of an annual fixture.
The tour aims to provide an introduction to the A2 syllabus: pupils receive talks on various aspects of the business, such as human resources, marketing, production planning, design and finance, as well as a tour of the factory itself. We have found these visits invaluable in setting the theory covered in the classroom into context, and what is learnt is applied many times over after returning to Stonyhurst. We are very grateful, once again, to Ian Brown and his team for their time and effort in making the visit such a success.
