On Thursday 1st March Hodder House and KS2 celebrated World Book Day by coming to school dressed as a character from a favourite book. Asterix the Gaul, Noddy and Harry Potter mingled with characters from Lord of the Rings, War Horse and a colourful assembly of pirates, spies, evacuees, witches and princesses. Miss Allen became a bear for the day, Snow White looked after PP1 and a fairy godmother had granted Mrs Gibson a beautiful pink princess dress for the occasion. As for Miss Taylor, we could only ask – Where’s Wally?!
Pupils from Figures and Rudiments (Years 7 and 8) donated a wonderful selection of books they no longer wanted to a book stall to raise money for ‘Children for Children’, the SMH charity. The stall proved very popular and, after eagerly buying some bargain books, everyone settled down for a good read.
