The Stonyhurst Invitation Cross-Country Event

Start of the race

Runners from 10 schools took part in the Stonyhurst Invitation Cross-Country event on the last Saturday of term. In the Boys’ Invitation Team Race, Lancaster Royal Grammar School’s A team finished first, with 71 points. The Stonyhurst As came 7th with 313 points.

In the Girls’ Invitation Race, a new course record was set by the winner, Naomi Richardson, from King Henry VIII School, Coventry, who finished in 20 minutes and 50 seconds. (The old record was 21 minutes, 41 seconds in 2005.) Stonyhurst’s  Anne-Marie Connolly (Grammar/Year 10) completed the course in 25 minutes, 31 seconds, and Flora Bertz (also in Grammar) finished in 26 minutes, 25 seconds.
