Whittle boys win medals at the British Youth Fencing Championships
Simon and Magnus Whittle, both in Syntax, have each won a medal in the finals of the National British Youth Fencing Championships, held at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield. Simon won the Silver medal in the Under 16 Boys Epee class; Magnus won a Bronze medal in the Under 16 Boys Sabre class. Over 600 young fencers from all over the country took part in the event, on the May Bank Holiday weekend; the top 40 in the country competed in each age group. "I'm delighted to have won Silver,” said Simon; "taking part in the finals was a tremendous experience." "It's great when you're 14-14 and you get the final point to win" said Magnus. Congratulations to both!
