Phenomenal Perfectly Pink Party
Jordan Riley, a Rhetoric pupil (Yr 13), and her team of helpers organised the recent Perfectly Pink Ball held here at Stonyhurst and raised a totally magnificent £43,282.24 for Breast Cancer Research. Jordan, Charlie McDermott (Rh Yr 13) and Megan Hindle (Rh Yr 13), both members of the organising team, presented the cheque this week. The phenomenal total was presented to Sarah McPhee, Cancer Research UK's Area Volunteer Manager for Lancashire, who was overwhelmed by the amount and said, 'We are extremely grateful to Jordan and all her friends who helped organise the event and of course Stonyhurst College for all their support. The Perfectly Pink Ball was a massive success and we can't thank them enough. Cancer Research UK's work underpins today's treatments for women with breast cancer. Our doctors, nurses and scientists are playing a crucial role in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the disease.'
At the beginning of April 350 guests were treated to the most amazing evening of food, music, raffles, auction and general merry making at the Perfectly Pink Ball. Jordan and her team had been working on the event for months before and persuaded many local business to get involved donating prizes and sponsorship to make the night a success. Well done to everyone who took part in this excellent effort.
But Jordan is not stopping there and is about to run the Race for Life to raise more money for Breast Cancer Research. She is encouraging everyone to sign up and enter a 5k race close to them in order to raise as much as possible.
