Charity and Other Jesuit Links

In just over 6 weeks time Richard Wotton OS1988 and his wife Emma  will be doing the Great North Swim, 2 miles across Lake Windemere, for Conservation Corridors.

They are raising money for Marla’s House of Hope, a children’s home in Belize’s capital, Belmopan. Their target is £10,000 of which £6,000 has already been raised by OS Ben and Luke Pryor who completed the Belize Spring Challenge in March www.muko.co

Please take a look at Marla’s website to find out more www.marlashouseofhope.org

Jesuit Missions

Jesuit Missions is an organisation set up to provide support and funds for missionaries in Guyana, Zimbabwe and South Africa.  The missionaries themselves are Jesuits, and their duty is to serve the communities in which they are based.  This work includes education, feeding programmes, hospitals, orphanages, community centres and - in times of drought and famine - emergency aid.

As well as supporting the work of British Jesuits, Jesuit Missions assist those from other Provinces working in the developing world.  We support missionaries and their work in Rwanda, Nepal, Bosnia, Philippines, Cambodia, India, Kenya and other developing nations.

Jesuit Missions also runs JM Volunteering, offering young people the opportunity to work on six-month placements with the Jesuits abroad.

Jesuit Volunteering

JV is a network of different agencies that provide opportunities for adults to volunteer in a way that integrates their skills with their values.

All Jesuit Volunteers work with people whose lives are affected by poverty, exclusion or injustice, following the example of Jesus. They use the tools of Ignatian spirituality to reflect upon their work.

For more information, visit the Jesuit volunteering web site: www.jesuitvolunteering.org.uk
