ICT at Stonyhurst

Syllabi
Lower Grammar (Year 9) & Grammar (Year 10) - GCSE Short Course ICT
The focus of the course is to ensure that all pupils are not only skilled in using new technologies but also appreciate their wider role in society at large. By having their ICT capability formally recognised the college believes it is providing grounding in skills and knowledge, which will prove invaluable higher up the school and beyond.
Poetry & Rhetoric - (Year 12 & 13) - AS / A2 Course ICT
Many of the topics introduced in the GCSE short course reappear in a more developed form. The course uses a task driven approach to problem solving and decision making and requires the pupil to analyse, specify, implement and evaluate an ICT solution to real problems and situations. Experience will be gained in the use of the higher level functions of generic software packages such as databases, spreadsheets and desk top publishers as well as developing an understanding of multi-media, web page authoring, high level application programming, data logging and control.
