Successful Duke of Edinburgh’s Silver Expedition

43 Syntaxians and 2 Poets enjoyed extraordinary weather for the end of September (23 degrees in Ingleton!) as they walked a 30 mile route through the Yorkshire Dales. Team 4 perched on top of the wind shelter at the top of Ingleborough (over 2000ft up) and gave a stirring rendition of Domine Salvam Fac, to the bemusement of various nearby hikers. As they moved on to the Pater Noster, an elderly gentleman enjoying his lunch at the top of the mountain said to Mrs Shelley, “You must be very proud of them!” By the afternoon of day 3, they all had something to be proud of, as their teamwork and mountain skills led to the completion of a successful expedition for all involved.
