Rugby Camp
At Stonyhurst we believe that sport is a key component to the development of young people. Not only does this provide a means of exercise and learning new skills, but also gives them an opportunity to develop essential traits such as leadership, honesty, discipline and teamwork that can be used in all aspects of sports and any future career.
Stonyhurst is world famous for its Rugby, providing several pupils with the training and experience to go on to have successful professional sporting careers. We can boast several international sports people among our alumni, including Joe Ansbro (played for Scotland); Will Greenwood, Kyran Bracken and Iain Balshaw (all members of the England squad who won the 2003 Rugby World Cup).
The Stonyhurst Rugby Experience for Easter 2025 will be led by Dino Radice and a team of experienced coaches.

Testimonials
Matt Rogerson - Captain of Leicester Tigers:
“As a young player, I was always proud to represent my school and local club and get the opportunity to play with my mates every week. I learnt a lot about the game at this level but when I started getting exposure at representative age grade level such as Lancashire and North of England U18’s, I was exposed to more elite players and oppositions, and most importantly high-quality coaching which allowed me to really start developing my game.
It was within the Lancashire set up that I met Dino, who was personable and approachable from the very beginning and provided world class insight into the specifics of the game, as well as detailed knowledge on how to develop our own individual skill sets as young players. Dino has always been a huge supporter of me, as both a coach and a friend and subsequently we have been in touch regularly over the last 12 years since first meeting as my career has gone from strength to strength.
The coaches that I encountered within the Lancashire set up such as Dino were fundamental to the early stages of my development. They gave me a fantastic springboard to go on to represent Loughborough Students in national league 1 whilst gaining my degree, before graduating and entering the world of professional rugby with Sale Sharks, Jersey Reds and now London Irish.”
John O'Driscoll - Stonyhurst OS, Ireland International & British Lion:
John played as a flanker with London Irish, Manchester, Liverpool St.Helen’s, Connacht, Ireland and the Lions He toured South Africa (1980) and New Zealand (1983) with the British and Irish Lions, playing in six of the eight tests on those tours. He was capped 26 times for Ireland. He was coach to the Irish Exiles Senior Provincial team from 1991 to 1995 and was President of the Irish Exiles from 2006 – 2010. A Lions selector in 2001, John is an IRFU representative to World Rugby and Rugby Europe.
‘My 10 year old grandson is still talking about how much he enjoyed the Stonyhurst Rugby Camp in August. On arrival, not having been there before, he was very impressed by the college buildings and grounds . He knew no one else who was attending but quickly made friends. The camp was very well organised. He came away enthused and feeling he had learnt a great deal and it is no surprise that he is keen to return next year.’
Sam Bedlow - Sale Sharks Centre
“Dino's coaching helped me develop massively when I was in my younger part of my career, so it's great to see him and his coaching team passing on the wealth of knowledge they have. The facilities they use at Stonyhurst are top class and cater to any weather conditions. These camps will be the closest to a professional environment while also also being good fun for anyone!”
