Figures, Rudiments, Lower Grammar
It is important that students feel supported in their transition from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3. The Learning Support Department at Stonyhurst College works closely with Saint Mary’s Hall to ensure a smooth, supportive transition.
Curriculum Support at Figures, Rudiments and Lower Grammar follows a bespoke programme of study that can enable students to refine and develop their literacy skills; strengthen planning and organisation skills and support them in preparation for the GCSE courses.
Key Stage 3 Learning Support provides innovative support to students with additional needs. Students are engaged in activities that meet their learning styles; group-work tasks, paired individual allows students to develop confidence in their approaches to learning at Stonyhurst. Lessons are enhanced by new technologies. In addition to Curriculum Support, we can offer the opportunity to work on a one-to-one basis with specialist staff that includes Learning Mentors, should pupils wish to do so. Support is provided to students with additional needs that include dyslexia; dyspraxia; ASD and ADD/ADHD.
