Key Stage 3
Figures, Rudiments, Lower Grammar
Figures and Rudiments
Figures and Rudiments pupils have a dedicated PE lesson in addition to their 2 games sessions. In these lessons they learn to use a range of tactics and strategies to overcome opponents in direct competition through team and individual games such as badminton, basketball, cricket, football, hockey, netball, rounders, rugby and tennis. They learn to analyse their performances compared to previous ones and demonstrate improvement to achieve their personal best as well as taking part in a wide range of competitive sports and activities.
Lower Grammar pupils
All pupils in LG have one double period of Physical Education in alternate cycles. This is in addition to their 4 games lessons. Pupils can also opt to participate in the Junior Sports Leader Award which was set up 3 years ago. This is an exciting initiative giving pupils the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and gain a recognised national qualification. Alongside this runs a broad Core PE curriculum of invasion games, net games, swimming and athletics.
