Hannah OS 11

About Hannah

After leaving Stonyhurst, I went on to obtain a First Class Honours Degree in Law from Durham University (University College). I have since undertaken the professional training required to become a barrister (pupillage) and in 2016 became a fully qualified barrister, taken on at a set of Chambers in Manchester. I specialise in family law, primarily in cases involving children.

I believe that my 7 years at Stonyhurst made me the person I am today. Not only did I receive an excellent education and make great friends who I will keep forever, but I was also given many opportunities I could not have obtained elsewhere. In particular, I took part in CCF, music, sport and charity work. Some of my fondest memories are being involved with the Stonyhurst Children’s Holiday Trust for 2 years and helping to organise the LTC dinner. These opportunities taught me many key skills including organisation, leadership, empathy and perseverance.

I have also held the school ethos and Jesuit values close since my time at Stonyhurst. I continue to try to help other people in any way I can and as much as I can. As part of my job I work with a wide variety of people, many of whom find themselves at the most difficult and emotional periods of their lives. The Stonyhurst values and the skills I learned during my time at school are crucial in assisting me to be successful in working with and representing these people.
