Stonyhurst Association is a global family, and as such, it is vitally important we have strong community ties, to enhance engagement, and provide localised support for alumni across the world.

Our new area Ambassador volunteers serve as a key connector for Association members in your area. Their primary responsibility is to organise and foster a welcoming, inclusive community for members living in your region through events and support networks.

Please contact the Association Office to be put in contact with your area Ambassador, where you will have the opportunity to join the local WhatsApp group, or if you would like to become an Ambassador for one of the areas currently not represented, please get in contact.

Attending Stonyhurst has been a most privileged and formative experience and so I did not hesitate when asked to be the Association Ambassador for Munich. It's a great feeling to give something back especially with so many members of the Stonyhurst community living in and around Munich these days.

8 March 2026 - Munich Brunch

A very successful Weißwurstfrühstück was held in Munich on a sunny Saturday morning allowing the group of 13 to sit outside.  Among the attendees, were 8 recent graduates from the Rhetoric '25 year group, who used the get together for a little reunion. They were happy to see their former Rhetoric Playroom Master Simon Whittle OS 13, who now teaches English in Upper Bavaria.

We had plenty of Association and Stonyhurst ties on display; you could sense the Stonyhurst community and there was real curiosity across generations what a Stony-experience used to be like and is like today.

20 March 2026 - York Drinks

21 members of the Stonyhurst family from across Yorkshire gathered to celebrate the arrival of spring at The Minster Inn in York for "Beer and Pizza". The group comprised 11 OS from an impressive 57 years between 1958 and 2015, with family members and parents, one of whom taught at SMH. A very convivial and enjoyable evening was enjoyed by all with friendships both continued and started. We plan to meet again near to Yorkshire Day on 1 August and are looking to choose a venue a little to the west, potentially in Leeds. Details to follow in due course.

28 May 2026 - Lagos Dinner

On Thursday 28 May, Nigerian OS met up for a meal at a dinner club, Prawn and Spice in the Lekki neighbourhood of Lagos. We. spent time together, reminiscing about our time at school and the years that have gone past since then. Some in attendance hadn’t seen each other since having left school, however, the camaraderie and community fostered by having spent our formative years at our home away from home, Stonyhurst, remained the same. We discussed everything from careers and country moves to relationships and raising children. 

We now have a WhatsApp community that we hope continues to thrive and organise more meet ups in the near future – some virtual and some in person. We hope to arrange a London one very soon and would love to see any other Nigerian OS there.

31 July 2026 - Yorkshire Day Drinks

On 31 July, the eve of the Feast of Saint Ignatius of Loyola (known in certain parts as ‘Yorkshire Day’) nine members of the Stonyhurst family gathered in Leeds.  For some it was a renewal of friendship, and for all it was an opportunity to meet new friends.  The evening, hosted by Archie’s Bar & Kitchen in the centre of Leeds, built upon the success of similar events in nearby York.  We hope to continue our tour of the county at our next event (details TBC).
