Last week Calum (poetry) went to an exhibition and meeting of the Botanical Society for Britain and Ireland, of which he is a member, at Edge Hill University.
Calum received some fantastic advice on his future career in ecology/botany. Paul Ashton, head of Biology at Edge Hill University (who achieved his BSc and PHD at St. Andrews), gave an inspiring talk about recruiting the future generation of botanists. Calum was also inspired by botanist Sven Batke, who specialises in tree climbs in tropical areas to record canopy botany.
