The Guest of Honour for Campion Day was the Papal Nuncio, HE Archbishop Edward Joseph Adams. Archbishop Adams celebrated Mass in St Peter’s Church for the Stonyhurst community.

He preached about the example of St Edmund Campion and about faithfulness and mission. The Stonyhurst College Choir was joined by the Choristers of Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral in an uplifting celebration. The Archbishop wore a chasuble which belonged to King Henry VII and was worn by Cardinal Wolsey at the Field of the Cloth of Gold in 1520.

The Archbishop was guest at a lunch attended by the College pupils. In the afternoon pupils took part in over twenty Campion Day service challenges within the local community.

At the time of writing, the interline Stonyhurst’s Got Talent competition is about to get underway. The end of term production of The Pirates of Penzance will round off an amazing day.
