Stonyhurst welcomed four local schools to the More Library to take part in the shortlisting event for Lancashire Book of the Year. Lancashire Book of the Year is an award for young people’s fiction, decided by young people.  It is in its 33rd year and Stonyhurst has been selected this year to take part in this exciting venture. Pupils read a selection of shortlisted books, upload short reviews to Lancashire Library website, vote in each shortlist phase and attend meetings in libraries across the county to put their ideas and opinions forward.  This will culminate in a final ceremony where the winner will be revealed and the authors of the books will attend to meet pupils and sign books!

The pupils from Clitheroe Royal Grammar School, Moor Park, Marsden Heights and Saint Bede’s RC High School, Lytham came together to discuss their own favourites and what makes a successful Young Adult piece of fiction.  Each school must now vote on their top six to go forward to the Lancashire short list.
