Mrs Rushworth, Head of Computer Science, writes:

On Thursday, all our Lower Grammar pupils took part in a Computer Science day, which I am pleased to say was our best yet.

LG used Hungarian dance to demonstrate sorting algorithms with Mr McGarvey, built bridges out of paper and sellotape with Mr Curran to test their resilience, took part in a competition to program PacMan games in Scratch, and used Sphero robots to navigate difficult obstacles in an assault course.  During Period 3, they attended a Q&A session with myself and Higher Line to talk about Computer Science and the role it will play in the future.

I am very grateful to the 15 Higher Line pupils who volunteered their free periods during the day to help in each session: they were a real credit to the department.
