Pamplona Day | Chaplaincy

This Thursday marked the 500th anniversary of St Ignatius being struck by a cannonball at the Battle of Pamplona.

It was an event that changed the course of Ignatius’ life and started him on a journey that was to lead him ultimately to founding the Jesuits and attaining Sainthood.

Our day of commemoration began with an assembly by the Headmaster, encouraging pupils to consider what their “cannonball moments” have been in their lives so far.

A special Prayer Service was then held at the Lions, led by Fr Tim Curtis SJ, featuring our cannons and a reading by Ciaran (RH) on the life of St Ignatius.

The full service will be shared in next week’s newsletter.
