Standing up for faith and freedom is in Stonyhurst's DNA and the College was glad to lend its support to this year’s Red Wednesday campaign, aiming to break the silence on the persecution of Christians and those of all faiths, globally.
Our efforts were led by the Syntaxians who are working towards their Faith in Action Gold award, but it was, as ever, a real team effort. Assemblies and prayer services raised awareness, while the home clothes day raised funds and spirits. For the first time, we trialled online giving for pupils as an alternative to cash donations, and the response was so generous.
A big shout-out to our electrical and grounds teams for lighting up the west front in red for the occasion and for the beautiful cyclamens, which sold out very rapidly, boosting our red-o-meter total to over £1000 for Aid to the Church in Need!
