Many congratulations to the Syntax class of 2022 on their excellent GCSE results. Results continue the upward trend of results from 2019, the last set of comparable public examinations.
Just under half the grades awarded were 7-9 (previously A*/A); 45 pupils achieved an average over 7; 12 pupils achieved an average over 8; 82% of all grades awarded were 9-5. Our pupils on the one year fast-track GCSE course (pre-IB programme) also achieved very impressive results.
John Browne, Headmaster of Stonyhurst, said: “These results are an amazing tribute to the determination and maturity of our young people over the past two extraordinary years. Young people truly living out the school motto ‘Quant Je Puis’ – as much as I can. These excellent achievements will provide a solid foundation for their A Level and International Baccalaureate courses and we look forward to welcoming our pupils back to Stonyhurst for the new academic year.
