After leading the weekly Mass last week, Figures Playroom gathered at the statue of St Ignatius for prayer and reflection to mark the start of this Jubilee Year (which continues until his feast day on 31st July 2022). The 20th of May 2021 marked the 500th anniversary of St Ignatius being injured by a cannonball at the Battle of Pamplona.
His long recuperation saw his conversion from seeking worldly honours to a deeper relationship with Christ. In time, this led to the founding of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) with a commitment to serve others throughout the world.
The theme of this Year of St Ignatius is: "to see all things new in Christ".
