Chaplaincy

Chaplaincy welcomes and encourages all pupils to take part in the wide range of prayers and social justice activities on offer.

Living out the Jesuit principle of meeting each individual pupil, where they are at, the Chaplaincy programme has something for everyone.

Student life is underpinned by a weekly rhythm of prayer, beginning with the Headmaster’s assembly on Monday and including daily reflection through the Jesuit practice of the Examen, evening prayers, hymn practice and streamed Masses.

In addition to this our pupils enjoy special one-off events such as our Easter Service and our Laudato Si celebrations to mark the anniversary in May.

For those seeking to put their faith into action, we have a broad range of co-curricular activities for our pupils to participate in. This includes our Environmental Commission group, “The ChangeMakers” who campaign to raise awareness on social justice issues and our Faith in Action Award group.

In addition to this, we run formation programmes for our Confirmands, Altar Servers and Eucharistic Ministers.

Jesuit spirituality places care for the individual at the centre of all that it does. Chaplaincy offers pastoral support to all pupils who seek it, for whatever reason it might be, and through the virtual platform of Stonyhurst Anywhere we continue to make this available to all.
