Years 7 - 8 (Figures and Rudiments)
At St Mary’s Hall we offer a rich and varied curriculum, which promotes excellence and aspiration within a nurturing and supportive environment.
The curriculum is taught by subject specialists based at both St Mary’s Hall and Stonyhurst College, which ensures that Year 7 and 8 children are stretched and challenged academically. For English, mathematics and the languages, children are taught in streamed sets.
In Years 7 and 8, pupils have the opportunity to study several languages from a choice of French, Spanish, German and Latin.
Learning Support takes place both in the classroom and in small group and individual sessions, depending on the needs of the child.
The children are grouped pastorally into small tutor groups, typically no more than ten pupils per group. St Mary’s Hall pastoral teams monitor and track the children’s academic progress and pastoral well-being. We believe in the importance of understanding the whole child; ensuring that they feel valued and confident, whilst also being challenged and inspired.
