Mr Charles, Director of Sport and 1st XV Rugby coach, writes:

Huge congratulations to Alex Whitfield, who has been called into the Sale Academy U15 squad and is making great strides developing his game.  This is the highest representative training level and, according to his coaches Alex is responding extremely well to the challenge.

Ciaran Sutcliffe continues training at this high level with the Sale Academy U18 squad,  and Joe Clark has also recently had trials for the Lancashire U17 squad.

Ciaran Fessey has been selected for the Lancashire U16 rugby squad this season and made his debut against Cheshire.  Ciaran was awarded his County colours after playing in the Cheshire game at Burnage Rugby Club and at the time is writing is waiting to find out if he will be selected for the Yorkshire match.

Other Stonyhurst players selected for the Representative Player Development Pathway have included Joe Wheeler, Fonsi Garcia Perez, Elias Carroll, Tom Bosonnet and Freddie Reader in the U15 age group and Archie Farquhar, Archie Whittaker, James Watmough, J-P Carrera Gutierrez, Freddie Whitfield, Henri Cottam and Luke Maduabuchi for the U14 age group.

Each one of these boys has done fantastically well to progress so far within the representative structure of the junior game in Lancashire.  They deserve recognition and praise for both their ability to perform at this high level as well as demonstrating the considerable commitment required to make the most of this experience.  They are all a real credit to Stonyhurst.
