Co-Curricular

Development of the Whole Person

We believe in ‘cura personalis’ – development of the whole person. While academic performance is important, learning and personal growth extends far beyond the classroom at Stonyhurst. We offer a number of trips and activities throughout each school year to nurture each pupil's interests, talents, choices and personality.

After school activities take place four times a week as part of a programme that is extremely rich and extensive. The majority of our co-curricular activities are fully inclusive, and we believe giving children so many opportunities outside the classroom builds confidence and self-esteem, along with helping to develop sociable and independent young people.

Trips and Activities

Children benefit from being taken outside of the premises on visits or trips to local parks or other suitable venues for activities which enhance and enrich their learning experiences. We ensure that there are procedures to keep children safe on outings; all staff and volunteers are aware of these and the health and safety of pupils. Cultural excursions and after-school activities  are included in the termly fees, excluding tennis which is an additional cost.

We are fortunate to have beautiful surroundings to explore and as much of as possible is delivered using our campus facilities. We continue our visits to the local area, linking our trips to the Foundation Stage Curriculum and the children’s interests.
