Activities are great fun and I have improved a lot through the sporting activities that I have chosen. My favourite activity is ‘Flag Football’. I have always been a big fan of the NFL in Mexico and when I arrived here I wasn’t expecting to be able to play American Football so it was a great surprise. There are lots of activities, not just sport, there really is something for everyone.

A life-long passion...

It is not uncommon for pupils to develop a long-lasting interest and enthusiasm for their activities, continuing on to more advanced levels as they progress through to Stonyhurst College and beyond. Activities makes an important contribution to the creative and energetic life that Stonyhurst provides.

An essential ingredient

We believe that co-curricular activities are an essential ingredient to developing the whole child at SMH helping to foster pupils’ confidence and independence as well as applying essential teamwork skills. The activity programme is available 4 times a week and by immersing themselves in our varied programme, it provides opportunities to practise those skills, sports and hobbies the children enjoy or to explore something they have never tried before.

A wide variety of activities

We offer a wide range of activities which change on a termly basis. These include sporting activities, creative activities as well as mental health and well-being activities. We make great use of the opportunities such as the swimming pool, beautiful grounds, sporting facilities, such as our indoor tennis dome, and our specialised staff. The school council often provide additional ideas for new activities through the children’s requests.

There is no additional charge for the activities programme at St Mary's Hall.

The excellent choice includes individual and team sports, drama, dance, art, chess and various musical options, such as choirs, orchestras and playing solo instruments.
