Stonyhurst Ballerina Project 2014-15
Dance at Stonyhurst continues to motivate, train and inspire pupils through many dance genres, including ballet, tap, modern, contemporary, Street Dance, Zumba and Cheerleading. Every year students get the opportunity to participate in a dance portfolio session to celebrate their progress and involvement with dance. There are always some really beautiful results which become a gallery of our dancers’ development and enable us to undertake projects such as this.
Birmingham Royal Ballet has become a strong educational link for Stonyhurst dancers over the past three years and after experiencing repertoire and creative workshops with their productions of Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast, we have based our Stonyhurst Ballerina Project on this creative partnership. This is our second dance calendar, photographed by Caroline Holden, to raise money for charity. This calendar will feature Birmingham Royal Ballet’s production of Beauty and the Beast as well as Stonyhurst dance students aged between 6 and18.
The following items can be purchased:

The Stonyhurst Children’s Holiday Trust (SCHT) is a registered charity run by adult trustees and a sixth form executive. Each year they provide a residential holiday at the College during the first week of the summer holiday for children from local special schools. The holiday aims to give children the time of their lives and their parents some welcome respite. The work of the Trust is entirely dependent upon its own fundraising activities and other donations such as this one.
Dance Development at Stonyhurst. With an expansion in the breadth and depth of what we offer within the dance department, for an age-range of 3-18 as well as adult classes, we need support to improve facilities and develop our educational programme.
Birmingham Royal Ballet
This is a world class ballet company which continues to inspire Stonyhurst dancers, who have an exceptional educational experience every time they have the opportunity to step into their world. We hope to support their educational work through our Stonyhurst Ballerina Project 2014-15.
