Art at Stonyhurst College

The Art Department at Stonyhurst College develops pupils’ skills from the outset, building confidence, creativity, and a willingness to experiment with new media and techniques. Alongside our established Art and Design and Photography courses, we are excited to introduce two new options from September 2025 – Product Design and Textiles & Fashion.

These innovative courses are designed to inspire creativity and develop essential skills for the design, fashion, and technology industries. Pupils will gain hands-on experience in prototyping, material manipulation, and sustainable design, preparing them for careers in product innovation, fashion design, and other creative fields. Product Design explores historical, social, and environmental influences, while Textiles & Fashion focuses on fabric construction, garment design, and trend forecasting. Both courses provide the technical expertise and problem-solving skills highly valued by universities and employers.

Our rich and varied programme blends contemporary and traditional approaches, introducing pupils to a wide range of themes, materials, and techniques from different cultures, while encouraging independent thinking and creative expression.
