Design and Technology at Stonyhurst
From September 2025, Stonyhurst will be offering both GCSE Design and Technology and A Level Product Design, giving pupils across different age groups the opportunity to develop their creativity, problem-solving, and technical expertise in this exciting and future-focused field.
Both courses will be taught in our brand-new Design and Technology Centre, a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility equipped with the latest technology, tools, and resources. This space has been designed to inspire innovation, combining traditional workshop skills with advanced digital equipment to prepare pupils for modern industry and higher education pathways.
These new courses provide a platform for pupils to design, create, and prototype solutions to real-world challenges, while gaining an understanding of materials, processes, and the wider social, cultural, and environmental context of design. Together, they offer a dynamic pathway for pupils who wish to explore engineering, architecture, product design, manufacturing, or creative industries.
