Learning Support

The Learning Support Department at Stonyhurst is a diverse and inclusive facility that supports children and young people at the College who have or may have special educational needs.

Stonyhurst are committed to providing the best possible support to young people and their family in order to access our Jesuit education and remove barriers to learning. We understand that in order to achieve the best possible outcomes, additional help may be necessary. As a result, The Learning Development Department work closely with many agencies in all 4 main areas of SEND support. This includes educational psychology, speech and language therapy, social and emotional support  and work with local NHS services.

The Learning Development Department have a team of dedicated support staff which include specialist teachers, Learning Mentors, HLTA's and Emotional literacy support assistants. We support exam access arrangements with a dedicated Exam Access Arrangements Co-ordinator. We also work closely with the Health Centre and School Counsellor.

For more information, please contact Mrs Charlotte Dilworth, Head of Learning Development and Cross Campus SENDCo.
